If you’re planning on decorating your home then Brooklyn Blue is on trend for Summer 2020. It’s slightly softer than the denim inky blues of previous years but still provides a dramatic feature in a living room or bedroom, and it looks lovely with all of your neutrals tones and golden highlights.

For a sense of drama and excitement, wash this powerful colour on a feature wall with paint but, if you’re colour shy, you could also use it sparingly in roman blinds, curtains or table lamps. It looks stylish in most homes, whether you have a modern apartment or a period home.

I’ve recently incorporated Brooklyn Blue into a stylish kitchen design, for a period London home, because it adds interest to a large open space. It looks amazing with neutral colours and, once my design is completed with a patterned roman blind and a sumptuous dining table with golden comfy chairs, it’s going to feel homely and welcoming. It will be the perfect family space to entertain friends and enjoy precious time with family.

In this kitchen, the design benefits from the strong Brooklyn Blue with golden tones because there is very little pattern and texture elsewhere, so such a large space would feel stark and bland without the colourful highlights. For more inspiration, checkout my BROOKLYN BLUE Pinterest Board

If you prefer to keep to the one colour, or you’re a little colour shy and want something more subtle, then I recommend you add colour, pattern and texture into your accessories. In this master bedroom transformation, I used strong blue tones with neutral accents of grey and white to create a calming, luxury bedroom for a City Gent.

The curtains are a strong blue velvet to give the room depth and masculinity, but it’s balanced with a modern geometric pattern for an element of fun and a touch of personality. If you’d like to see the full makeover then checkout the BACHELOR PAD for the complete story.

Brooklyn Blue is the perfect shade  because it brings a sense of calm and restfulness whilst also adding drama and excitement to your home.
